Itinerary
Day 1 - Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Phitsanulok
  • Our Thailand tour begins bright and early with a pick up from your hotel, from where we head to Bang Pa In. Here, you will enjoy a picturesque boat ride down the rippling river to the ancient town of Ayutthaya. You will be able to take in the sights, sounds and colours of this beautiful place, with stops at temples including Wat Panangchoen, Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol and Wat Chai Wattanaram. From here, we proceed to Chainat where you can sample delicious Thai flavours for lunch. Our last stop is Phitsanulok, the home of Phra Buddha Jinaraj, worshipped by thousands each year at Wat Maha That. You will stay the night at Amarin Lagoon Hotel.

Day 2 - Phitsanulok - Sukhothai - Lampang
  • The second day of your trip to Thailand will tak e you back in time to pretty archaeological finds, but with a difference. You’ll travel the traditional way - in an ox-cart or a horse-drawn carriage. The first stop on Day 2 of your Thailand tour is at the Sukhothai Historical Park that is filled with interesting ruins from the days gone by. You’ll then trundle along in the company of our benevolent oxen to Gaeng Luang Restaurant at Sri Satchanalai for a scrumptious meal. At Lampang, you’ll have postcard-perfect photo ops as you ride around town in a horse-drawn carriage, stopping at Wat Don Tao and Wat Pratu Phong - each unique in architecture and history - and at the century-old teak mansion of Baan Sao Naak. Your accommodation for the night is at Lampang River Lodge.

Day 3 - Lampang - Golden Triangle - Chiang Mai
  • Our Quintessential Thailand tour gives you the unique opportunity to position yourself on the very spot where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. You’ll reach this spot after a drive along a scenic route through neighbouring towns and villages. A flavourful lunch at the Imperial Golden Triangle hotel precedes a relaxing boat ride down the famous Mekong River to the point where the international borders meet. From here, we will take you to the edge of Thailand, the town of Mae Sai, which sits at the country’s tip near the border of Myanmar. Your accommodation for the night is at Phowadol in Chiang Rai.

Day 4 - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai
  • On the fourth day of your trip to Thailand, you will come face-to-face with one of the country’s most prominent landmarks. Stark white and a perfection of architectural beauty, Wat Rong Khun is nothing like anything you’ve ever seen before. We proceed to Chiang Mai where you can check into your hotel - The Empress. Here, you will enjoy a sumptuous lunch. High up in the mountains at 1056 metres sits Wat Doi Suthep, the temple Chiang Mai is most famous for. Take the stairway of 290 stairs featuring beautiful Naga balustrades to a view that’s most certainly jaw-dropping. At Wat Doi Suthep, you can opt to stay for a Northern Dances performance and traditional Kantoke dinner (optional. Cost: 570 baht per person). Your accommodation for the night is at The Empress Chiang Mai.

Day 5 - Chiang Mai - Bangkok
  • Today is all about Thailand’s flora, fauna and traditional handicrafts. We head to the Thai Elephant Care Centre, where you will witness how the organisation cares for its old elephants in particular. You will get a chance to understand the intricacies of elephant herd life at its education centre, and visit the elephant cemetery (Between 9am and 10.15am). And that’s not all! Watch these gentle giants being fed and get a chance at feeding them yourself (Included: feeding set). Later, surrounded by fragrant aroma and floral beauty, you will enjoy lunch at the Orchid Farm before heading back to Chiang Mai town. We take a trip to Sankhampeng, a collection of handicraft villages that show you a slice of Thailand’s traditional craft. The day ends at Chiang Mai Railway Station, where you will take the overnight train to Bangkok (second class, air-conditioned sleeper).

Day 6 - Arrival Bangkok
  • The train arrives early in the morning at Bangkok Railway Station, from where you are free to carry on with your own itinerary. Your arrival at the station marks the end of our services included in this exciting tour of Thailand. Transfers to any onward destinations are charged separately.
  • Meals: No meals are provided

  • Road conditions and room availability may force slight changes in the schedule
  • Deduct 1041 Baht per person if returning to Bangkok from Chiang Mai by flight. Refund only applicable if we are explicitly informed of this when the tour is being booked
  • We provide domestic air tickets, charged separately
  • Transfers to Chiang Mai airport and from Bangkok airport are excluded from the tour cost, and are charged separately
